On December 4th, grade 10 students were going to wu weishan cultural figures sculpture gallery of Nanjing museum. There are different kinds of artwork in the museum., such as sculpture, calligraphy and Chinese painting. The artist of all the artwork called “Wu Weishan”. These artwork is contemporary.
First, we invited inside of the museum, a guide who is a student of Mr.Wu introduced the characteristic of each artwork. When we were watching each artwork, I found one artwork that I like.
1. DESCRIBE the artwork
This artwork was done by Wu Weishan in 2004The title of this artwork was called “citizenry musician---A’Bing. Wu Weishan used inregular lines.It used bronze. This subject of this sculpture is about a bind musician was standing on the TaiHu stone.He played Erhu above the TaiHu stone. He wears a hat and messy clothes. He also wears a pair of glasses. His eyes are blind. So the lines are deep around the eyes. Wu used rough lines to make the upper back of A’Bing. The most attractive place is a Erhu in the middle of his body.
2. INTERPRET THE ARTWORK
This artwork makes me think of a disabled person need more effort to get respect from other person.the disabled want to spend normal life in the life. Don’t laugh by the other person. they need more respect and encourage from another people. They want to work for live by themselves. A’Bing wants to people pay more attention to his musical achievement, nor a blind person. I admire the spirit of a’bing .it is emotional wellbeing and indenpence.i don’t believe a blind person how could play Erhu so excellent.this process needs to put more effort into the musical achievement.The artwork remains me to work hardly in the study.
3.JUDGE the artwork
I like this artwork.this artwork is different from the anther artwork..Mr.wu used different way to describe a blind musician.many artists all are drawing A’Bing.they are focous on a’bing is a blind and poor person. However,I feel elegant about this artwork because Wu is focus on a’bing musical achievement.he like playing Erhu in his whole life.so wu used taihu stone as background.wuxi is the hometown of a’bing.the taihu stone give people beautiful and classic.taihu stone represents a’bing musical achievement.mr.wu put erhu inside his body.it explain a’bing was crazy about playing erhu.
